‘Paralko Aago’ Film Workshop Begins, Cast in Preparation

Kathmandu: The formal workshop for the film based on renowned Nepali writer Guruprasad Mainali’s famous story ‘Paralko Aago’ began on Sunday. The production team gathered all the actors in one place to ensure the film reaches its highest quality.
Main cast members include Saugat Malla, Prakash Saput, Suhana Thapa, Sirjana Adhikari, Shankar Acharya, Kishor Bhandari, Kuldeep Adhikari, Saru Bhandari, and Renu Nyaupane. They are rehearsing to bring their characters to life.
Producer Sushil Pokharel and writer Sushil Devkota were also present at the workshop. Pokharel stated that he is personally involved to make the film outstanding. The film is directed by Laxman Sunar.
The songs for the film will feature lyrics by Surendra Rana, Man Bahadur Mukhiya, and Prakash Saput, while music will be composed by Shanti Thatal, Satya Sworup, and Prakash Saput. According to the production team, veteran composer Shanti Thatal was approached at his residence two months ago to obtain permission for using his music.
The shooting of ‘Paralko Aago’ will begin on September 11, 2025 (Bhadra 26, 2082 BS) in scenic locations of Myagdi. Cinematography will be handled by Sankalpa Bhujel. The technical team includes Ramji Lamichhane (dance direction), Sulakshan Bharati (script doctoring), Sushil Devkota (writing), and Nagendra Ghimire (production manager).
Notably, Mainali’s story ‘Paralko Aago’, included in his collection ‘Naso’, was previously adapted into a film 45 years ago by director Pratap Subba, which was commercially successful. The release date of the new version has not yet been announced by the production team.
