One-Month Beauty Art Training Concludes Successfully in Madhyapur Thimi

Bhaktapur – A one-month training on beauty and cosmetology skills concluded in a formal ceremony held in Kaushaltar, under the organization of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality and in collaboration with GM Beauty Salon.
The training was conducted as part of the municipality’s broader skill development initiatives under the Micro Enterprise Development for Poverty Alleviation (MEDPA) program, which aims to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship. Women entrepreneurs were trained in various aspects of beauty and salon skills, and the program concluded with the distribution of certificates and technology handover.
The closing ceremony was held under the chairmanship of Abhayendra Ranjit, Head of the Industry, Cooperative, and Employment Promotion Division, and with Krisna Hari Acharya, Chairperson of Ward No. 3, as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Ward Member Nirmala Pariyar, Ward Secretary Anju Bhattarai, Upakar SACCOS Manager Kapil Dhwajoo, senior cosmetologist and GM Beauty Salon proprietor Mandira Khadka, and microfinance facilitator Shobha Raut, alongside local media representatives and community members.
During the event, the chief guest and dignitaries jointly distributed certificates and handed over essential tools and equipment related to beauty services to the trained women.
Addressing the gathering, Ward Chair Acharya emphasized the importance of such regular skill-based training programs. He said they provide a sustainable solution to issues like unemployment and foreign labor migration. He pledged to lobby for more budget from the government and committed to supporting similar initiatives in the future, promising to prioritize them in upcoming fiscal plans.
The program ended on a joyful note with a cake-cutting celebration in the premises of GM Beauty Salon, marking the success of the training.
