Chairman Oli Rejects Claims of National Regression

Kathmandu — CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has emphasized that the country should not lose hope even in difficult circumstances.

Addressing a seminar organized on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Nepal National Ex-Servicemen and Police Organization, Chairman Oli highlighted that Nepal, with its long history, has overcome numerous ups and downs to move forward.

He said, “We are not in easy circumstances; we are facing difficulties. But the people of a country with a long history do not despair in tough times. Our history is one of enduring many hardships, both cold and heat, uphill and downhill.”

Oli pointed out that Nepal is diverse geographically, biologically, and socially, and that the country has faced various social and developmental challenges along with its geographic difficulties. He also rejected recent claims that the country is regressing.

“Earlier, modern science and technology were not available, and there were no vehicles. Now times have changed. It is wrong to say that our predecessors did nothing, or that we have done nothing, or that even though the system changed, the situation has not changed,” he stated.

He emphasized that the notion that the situation has not changed despite changes in governance is incorrect, noting that industrialization is increasing in the country, and new policies, methods, and resources are being adopted.

“People need more than just facilities and conveniences; they seek an easier life,” Oli said. “The country will not remain in the same state, because we have initiated many new efforts.”
