Formal Announcement of the Second Edition of 'Nritya Nepali Para'
Kathmandu. The second edition of 'Nritya Nepali Para' has been announced. The competition was formally announced at a press conference held in Kathmandu on Sunday.
The event was graced by the central president of the Dance Directors' Association Nepal and senior dance director Bhuwan Das Shrestha as the chief guest, and the president of Everest Nepal Culture Group, RC Koirala, as the special guest.
Directors Shambhu Shahi, Sunil Giri, Krishna Rasal, Ramesh Budhathoki, Ajay Bishta, Saroj Shrestha, Rishikesh Shrestha, Ramesh Pathak, Shila Gajurel, and others expressed their best wishes for the success of the competition. Also Buddhal Lama, Sandesh Lama, Abhi Lama, and others were Present.
Keshab Koirala, the President of the organizing institution Nepal Folk Dance Centre, presented detailed information about the competition. According to Koirala, the competition will be conducted in two levels: the Junior Group, for students from class 2 to 5, and the Senior Group, for students from class 6 to 10. The Dance Nepal Association has collaborated with the competition.
Shambhu Shahi is the chief judge of the competition, while the other judges include Anita Gole Tamang, Ramesh Budhathoki, and Krishna Rasal. A dance workshop will be conducted for the students selected from the audition round in both categories. The trainers for the workshop are Dakshina Lama Dawa, Saroj Shrestha, and Abhi Wagle.
The workshop fee for the competition has been set at 3,500 rupees. The application form registration fee will be 500 rupees. The organizers stated that a photoshoot of the participants will also be done after the workshop. Participating students will have to arrange the necessary materials themselves. They will only be allowed to perform to Nepali songs.
Attractive prizes have been arranged for the winners of the competition. The first prize is 20,000 rupees, the second is 10,000, the third is 7,000, the fourth is 5,000, and the fifth prize is 5,000 rupees, along with a trophy, medal, and certificate.
In addition, five special categories—Best Expression, Best Costume, Originality, Audience Choice, and Best Performance—will also be honored with a trophy, medal, and certificate. The organizers expressed confidence that 'Nritya Nepali Para' will be effectively put forward as a platform for children to express their talent.
