'Never thought for myself': Ganga Dahal challenges misleading propaganda while resigning from Prachanda's secretariat

Kathmandu: Ganga Dahal, daughter of CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', has resigned from her responsibility in her father's secretariat, stating that she has been constantly subjected to misleading propaganda and planned attacks. She announced her resignation through an emotional post on the social media platform Facebook.
Dahal stated that she was seriously concerned about the misleading news that had recently linked her name to various media outlets and concluded that leaving the responsibility would be 'better for the father, the party and the movement.'
She clarified that the accusations leveled against her regarding 'bags and watches worth how many lakhs' were completely false. "I have never in my life bought a watch or a bag worth one lakh. It was a gift given by friends on the occasion of my birthday, whether it was real or fake, it has already been burnt to ashes," she wrote.
She said that she took on the responsibility of the secretariat selflessly on the advice of party leaders after the death of her brother Prakash Dahal and when her mother Sita Dahal was ill.
She claimed that she never worked by thinking for herself and clarified that she was trying to provide as much support as possible. However, she expressed her sadness, saying, 'Maybe this place is such that no matter how good one tries to do, one ends up in controversy.'
Even though she has stepped down from the responsibility of the secretariat, she has expressed her commitment to remain active in the party for life as a responsible party worker. Finally, she extended her best wishes for the festivals including Deepawali, Chhath, and Nepal Sambat.
