Nepali Film ‘PariWAR’ Announced, Shooting Begins in Kathmandu
Kathmandu — The new Nepali film titled ‘PariWAR’ has been officially announced. The production team made the announcement during a special inauguration (shubha muhurat) ceremony held in the capital, Kathmandu, where the shooting of the film also commenced.
Directed by Madan Thapa, the majority of the movie will be filmed in Kathmandu, while a few scenes will be shot outside the valley, as informed by the producers. Thapa previously directed the film ‘Bato: Road to Death’ and has also worked as a creative director in ‘Abhimanyu: Chapter-1’, which is set to release on Bhadra 27.
The announcement poster of ‘PariWAR’ features a man, two women, and a child — leading to speculation that the story may involve two wives. A dog and a cat are also seen in the poster. Interestingly, the title design splits the word as “Pari” and “WAR,” indicating a conflict within the family. The presence of a dog and cat may symbolize constant quarrels or unresolved tension among family members.
The cast of the movie has not been revealed yet.The producers of the film are Kiran Rijal, Ramesh Sahi, Bhishakha Bikram Thapa, and Spranja Kandel. Santosh Adhikari is onboard as the co-producer. The story has been written by Prem Thapa and Ganesh Upadhyaya, while the screenplay direction is by director Thapa himself.
Niraj Kandel is handling the cinematography (DOP), with Sher Shahi as the creative director. The style direction is by Bishakha Bikram Thapa, and the overall cinematography is led by Bishesh Maharjan.
The film also features Sirja Bhujel as the chief assistant director (AD), Rajiv Gahatraj as the assistant director, and NB Maharjan as the action director. Waris Sona is the line producer, while Ramesh Bahadur Sahi is serving as the executive producer.
Presented by Ray of Art, the film is a joint collaboration of Bhisa Eye Films, Sahi Films, and is being produced under the banner of Atreya Production House.
