Printing of Proportional Representation Ballots Completed for Upcoming Election

Kathmandu. Printing of ballot papers under the proportional representation system for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5 has been completed. The Election Commission stated that the printing of 20,850,000 ballot papers for the proportional category was finished on Monday at Janak Education Materials Centre Limited in Sanothimi.

Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari informed that there is a plan to dispatch these proportional representation ballots to all electoral constituencies by February 17.

Following this, the printing of ballot papers for the first-past-the-post (direct) election system has commenced. On Monday, Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari and other officials visited the printing site at Janak Education Materials Centre Limited, Sanothimi, to inspect the start of the direct ballot printing process.

Speaking to journalists after the inspection, Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari stated that the printing of 20,323,000 ballots for the direct election has begun. According to him, the printing work will be completed within approximately 15 days.

Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari mentioned that all election preparations, including security arrangements for the ballots before voting, have reached the final stages. 

Previously, Janak Education Materials Centre had already printed and sent approximately 1.1 million sample ballots for the direct election to the Election Commission.
