Nepal Army Disposes of Two Bombs Near Polling Station in Mugu
Mugu – Two bombs found near the Baljyoti Secondary School, Gilaha polling station in Soru Rural Municipality-8 of Mugu during the House of Representatives election have been disposed of by the Nepal Army.
The discovery of suspicious objects (bombs) at two separate locations near the voting booth caused a brief disruption in the voting process.
A Nepal Army team arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the report and safely disposed of the bombs. Security agencies have taken control of the area and are conducting further investigations.
The discovery of the bombs has spread fear among the general public in the Soru area. According to local resident Dharmaraj Shahi, voter turnout at the polling station has been very low due to the fear of bomb explosions.
"Villagers have been scared since morning due to the news of the bombs, which is why there is a low turnout at the polling center," Shahi informed.
Security agencies have increased surveillance following unconfirmed reports that suspicious objects might have been placed in other locations within the area as well. The District Administration Office, Mugu, has tightened security arrangements and urged citizens to cast their votes without fear.
