Students from Nepal Engineering College Win Title at Startup Summit
Kathmandu. Students from Nepal Engineering College have emerged as winners of 'The Startup Summit Nepal 2025'. Seventh-semester Computer Engineering students Anand Rimal, Sulabh Timalsina, Aditya Malla Thakuri, and Diya Shakya won the title of Startup Summit Nepal.
At a ceremony held in the capital on Monday, they were awarded a cash prize of NPR 50,000. Along with the title of the program organized for entrepreneurship and innovation, the college students also received a total fund prize of NPR 1.1 million. The chief guest of the program was Minister of Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel.
'The Startup Summit' brought together policymakers, investors, ecosystem leaders, founders, and aspiring entrepreneurs from Nepal and abroad.
The organizers claim that the summit, organized with the aim of strengthening Nepal's startup ecosystem, served as a dynamic platform for meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, innovation-led economic growth, policy commitments, and collaborative efforts focused on the global integration of Nepal's startup landscape.
The objectives of the summit included startup pitching sessions, expert panel discussions, ecosystem interactions, promoting relationships among startups, investors, advisors, and industry leaders, and opening new avenues for development and collaboration.
The judges for the summit included Anil Keshari Shah, former Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank; Amit Agarwal, Co-founder and Director of Khalti; and Kanishka Dasgupta, former Partner Director of Aleph Group.
