NEC Civil Engineering Students Visit Nepal Eco Panel Factory
Bhaktapur — Students from Nepal Engineering College (nec), Changunarayan Municipality, Bhaktapur, studying in the Bachelor in Civil Engineering (2024 Batch), visited the Nepal Eco Panel factory as part of their academic curriculum to gain practical exposure to modern construction materials.
The visit focused on EPS–cement based lightweight sandwich panels, included in civil engineering materials studies. During the field visit, students observed the composition of EPS–cement sandwich panels, their manufacturing process, salient features, engineering properties, and their application in civil engineering construction.
The factory visit was facilitated by Er. Krishna Sunder Kumpakha, Project Head of Nepal Eco Panel, who provided technical explanations and interacted with students on structural performance and field applicability of the panels.
Nepal Eco Panel, an ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) certified company, stated that such academic–industry interactions help bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical implementation while promoting sustainable and innovative construction practice in Nepal.
