Movie 'PR' to Release on 'MSM Video' Platform After Theatrical Run

Kathmandu: The movie 'PR', which released in theaters on Mangsir 26, is now set to be broadcast through the OTT digital platform 'MSM Video'. A written agreement was signed on Thursday between the film's director, Shobit Basnet, and representatives of MSM Video.

According to Director Basnet, the film is scheduled to be broadcast via OTT starting from Poush 10.

Director Basnet stated that the digital platform facility is being provided for the audience members who were unable to watch the film while it was in theaters.

"Movie theaters are not available everywhere. Many people were complaining that they could not watch the film because there were no cinema halls," Director Basnet said. "In accordance with that, we are going to broadcast the film through the digital platform MSM Video."

Recently, the number of viewers watching movies through the digital platform 'MSM Video' has been increasing. Many Nepali films have already been released on it previously.

The film was highly liked during its premiere and theatrical screening. At the time of the film's premiere, Film Development Board Chairman Dinesh DC, successful director Deepashree Niraula, Gauri Malla, Rejina Upreti, Karishma KC, Deepak Acharya Kaku, Rekha Thapa, Jaykishan Basnet, Sabin Shrestha, Nirmal Sharma, Salinman Baniya, Prabhat Pal, and singer Devika Bandana, among others, praised the film.

The film speaks about the story of the struggle of youth who reached Australia from Nepal to obtain Permanent Residency (PR). Most of the shooting of this film was done in Australia.

Director Shobit Basnet said that this film, shot in Australia and Nepal, will compel fathers and relatives in Nepal to contemplate the situation of their children who have gone abroad after watching it.

Produced under the banner of Salon Salina Films, this movie features R.A. Suraj Paudel, Binita Karki, Rajan Kunwar, Puja Chaudhary, Aashma Adhikari Mastani, Bimala Khatri, Ganesh Budhathoki, Max Babu, Krishna Thapa, and Nabin Ghayal in lead roles. Neer Shah, Gauri Malla, Rabindra Khadka, Uttam K.C. Nepal, and Dikpal Karki can also be seen in special roles.

The presentation of this film is by Ranjit Sah and Santosh Tiwari, while Laxman Sapkota and Pradeep Dahal have invested in it. Bande Prasad is the editor and Ganesh Budhathoki is the writer.

Saurav Sayami and Saurav Lama have done the cinematography for the film. Additionally, the distribution is being handled by RR Films.
