Supriya Gole Tamang of Birauta Crowned Miss Tamang Pokhara

January 18, Pokhara. Supriya Gole Tamang of Birauta has won the title of Miss Tamang Pokhara. In the competition held at the Pokhara Event Center on Saturday, she surpassed seven other contestants to wear the crown of Miss Tamang Pokhara, along with the Miss Confident subtitle. 

She secured the win by providing the best answer among the top five finalists to a question regarding the culture and traditions of the Tamang community, asked by the chief judge and Chairman of the Nepal Film Development Board, Dinesh DC.

In the tenth edition of Miss Tamang Pokhara organized by the Baidam Tamang Sewa Samaj, Sommaya Tamang became the first runner-up along with winning Miss Beauty with Purpose. Soni Tamang secured the second runner-up position with the Miss Best Walk title, while Kabina Ghising Tamang won the Viewers' Choice title along with Miss Punctual. 

Maya Lama took home the Popular Award along with Miss Culture. Similarly, Khushi Tamang was named Miss Talent, Rose Lama won Miss Photogenic, and Salina Tamang was awarded Miss Best Smile.

The winner of the competition received a crown, trophy, and certificate, along with 100,000 rupees in cash and attractive gift hampers. The first runner-up received a crown, trophy, certificate, and 50,000 rupees in cash. 

Likewise, the second runner-up secured a crown, trophy, certificate, and 30,000 rupees in cash. The winners of Viewers' Choice and Miss Popular received a cash prize of 20,000 rupees.

The winners and runners-up were presented with prizes by special guest and Central Vice-Chairman of Nepal Tamang Ghedung, Deepak Waiba Tamang; President of Baidam Tamang Sewa Samaj, Jack Tamang; winner of Miss Tamang Pokhara 2024 and program coordinator, Roshila Blon Tamang; Chairman of the Nepal Film Development Board, Dinesh DC; former Miss Tamang Nepal, Riya Lama; Vice-Chairman of Nepal Tamang Ghedung Gandaki Province, Shibu Blon; winner of Miss Tamang Pokhara 2025, Shisha Lama; and Press Registrar of Gandaki Province, Bimala Bhandari, among others.

Subtitle winners were awarded prizes by the Chairman of Nepal Tamang Ghedung Kaski District Coordination Committee, Bhakta Tamang; President of Nepal Tamang Ghedung Pokhara Metropolis, Anjana Tamang; choreographer Jita Tamang; official photographer Ganesh Tamang; and artists Phul Kumar Bomjan and Ram Lama, among others.

Earlier, while inaugurating the program, the Chairman of the Ujyaalo Nepal Party, Kulman Ghising, emphasized that such competitions promote not only beauty but also identity, self-confidence, and the preservation of culture. 

He expressed his belief that programs like Miss Tamang Pokhara inspire young women of the Tamang community to move forward with leadership, awareness, and positive thinking.

Speakers at the event included Central Vice-Chairman of Nepal Tamang Ghedung, Deepak Waiba Tamang; Nepal Film Development Board Chairman, Dinesh DC; Press Registrar of Gandaki Province, Bimala Bhandari; artist Buddhi Tamang; program coordinator and former Miss Tamang Pokhara, Roshila Blon Tamang; co-coordinator Shisha Lama Tamang; Ram Lama; Jita Lama; and media person Sanjay Malla.

The judging panel consisted of Nepal Film Development Board Chairman Dinesh DC, former Miss Tamang Nepal Riya Lama, Press Registrar of Gandaki Province Bimala Bhandari, and artist Buddhi Tamang. 

Singers Phul Kumar Bomjan, Vivek Dong, and Santosh Basyal, among others, gave performances. The program was chaired by Jack Tamang, President of Baidam Tamang Sewa Samaj.
