Mishra Warns Gen Z: “Current Election Won’t Fix Politics”
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Vice-Chairman Rabindra Mishra has expressed doubt that the recently announced election will bring politics onto the right path.
Addressing the RPP's public demonstration and assembly in Kathmandu on Tuesday, he stated that while the Gen Z generation is arguing that elections are the only option and will provide a way out, it is necessary for them to understand that the elections may not bring politics onto the right path as they imagine.
He said, "Was the Gen Z movement held to move the election of '84 BS to '82 BS? Was the Gen Z movement held to add some new faces and some new parties by immediately holding elections? Was the Gen Z movement for the continuation of the status quo? If it was not, the Gen Z generation is saying that elections are the only option and elections will provide a way out. But first of all, they must understand that the current election will not bring politics onto the right path as you have imagined."
Similarly, he mentioned that if the election takes place this time without a new understanding between political parties, the Gen Z generation, and the monarchy, and if the old parties return to power, the issue of the monarchy could be sidelined for a long time.
Citing that the President could not even address the nation when the country faced a crisis, he questioned where the President was during the national crisis and, if another crisis occurs, whether the Army Chief should take responsibility for the country. He also asserted that the monarchy must be reinstated as the highest authority in the country.
