A Triple Coincidence Between the Director and Lead Actors in 'Mirmire'

Kathmandu: When the movie 'Mirmire' releases on Magh 1, the on-screen pair of Dayahang Rai and Srijana Ninglekhu will be seen together again. This pair was previously seen in the movie 'Karsang'. Now, the audience will get to see them once more in 'Mirmire'.

The interesting coincidence is that this pair has been repeated by the same director who directed 'Karsang'. In other words, Yam Sherpa, the director of 'Karsang', has also directed 'Mirmire'.

Yam himself created the opportunity for the director and the lead actors (hero/heroine) to work together again. Why did Director Yam choose Dayahang and Srijana for his second movie as well?

"Once you work with someone, it becomes easier to work with them again. During the first collaboration, you learn about their working style and habits," Director Yam explains. "Secondly, Dayahang Rai is a popular hero loved by everyone. Regarding the actress, I repeated her because it felt comfortable having worked together in the first film."

He also mentioned that the story of the film required characters like Dayahang and Srijana, so they were in his mind right from the scriptwriting stage. 

Director Yam clarifies that the triple collaboration happened due to the demands of the story and the expectation of comfort from working together before.

Written and directed by Yam Sherpa, 'Mirmire' features Prakash Saput in a lead role alongside Dayahang and Srijana. This is the first collaboration between Dayahang and Prakash.

Shaisa Gauchan is another main character in the movie, which releases on January 15. She plays the role of Dayahang's daughter.

The teaser released recently shows a father's struggle for his daughter. After the mother leaves the house, only the father and daughter remain. The young daughter cannot do anything for herself, so the father has to do everything. 

The movie shows how a father manages his daughter’s care, household chores, her school, and his job all by himself. It portrays a father's duty toward his daughter.

The production team of 'Mirmire' is confident that audiences will like the story of a daughter's love for her father and the sacrifices a father makes for his daughter.

Presented by Yarsa Films, the movie stars Dayahang, Prakash, Srijana, and Shaisa, along with Maotse Gurung, Chulthim Gurung, Bholaraj Sapkota, Divisha Panta, Chirag Shrestha, and Namanraj Gajurel.

Produced by Nimu Sherpa, Chhongba Lama Sherpa, and Angchhiring Sherpa, the movie's co-producers are Govinda Bohora and Sudip Kunwar. The executive producer is Rohit Kattel, who is also the operator of RR Films and a film distributor.

Birendra Shahi is the line producer, Sudip Kunwar is the chief assistant director, Sanju Thalang Limbu is in charge of makeup, and Dilip Panta is the production controller.

RR Films, owned by Rohit Kattel and Ratna Shrestha, has taken the responsibility for the nationwide distribution of 'Mirmire'.
