Powerful Teaser Released for 'Maun' (Silence) on Autism, Preparations to Resume Postponed Shows
Kathmandu. The official teaser for the highly anticipated docudrama 'Maun' (Silence), produced under the banner of Celebrity Times, has been released.
The 1-minute and 14-second long teaser, published on the company's official channel, centres on a story where a mother tearfully confesses an emotional mistake to her daughter.
The teaser sensitively presents the serious aspects of autism, successfully raising audience interest.
According to producer and director Ramji Gyawali, with the release of the teaser, preparations are underway to showcase 'Maun' at film festivals, charity shows, and special screenings both domestically and internationally. The film had previously garnered attention after the release of two posters.
The docudrama features performances by artists including Saroj Khanal, Hiunwala Gautam, Prarthana Pathak, Ojaswi Bikram Bishta, and Divas Nath. The teaser clearly indicates that 'Maun' carries a profound story about a sensitive and often neglected subject like autism.
Producer-Director Gyawali stated that 'Maun' is not built for commercial gain but is a social responsibility project created to raise awareness and sympathy in society. The story for the docudrama was written by the renowned writer Ramsharan Pathak.
The special shows and charity screenings of 'Maun' were temporarily postponed due to the Gen-Z movement that recently took place in Nepal.
Director Gyawali informed that the programs were halted considering the political and social situation, and final preparations are now being made to consult with organizers and restart the special screenings.
He mentioned that the docudrama's screenings are not just for entertainment but will be part of a campaign to raise awareness about autism among schools, colleges, organizations, and communities in Nepal.
The film was shot by Shankalpa Bhujel, with Basanta Adhikari serving as the Chief Assistant Director. The Assistant Producer is Hari Chhetri Bhupendra. Bharat Kandel handled the Sound Designing, Rajendra Moktan did the Color Grading, and Nahakul Khadka was the Editor.
The film's producer and director, Ramji Gyawali, transitioned into docudrama, documentary, and short film making after a decade-long career in journalism.
His previous projects include Aaradhya, Ek Lover, Honeymoon, Lilami, Darkmoon, Lapatta Santan, Ritto Gaun (Empty Village), Maun (Silence), and Nishabd (Soundless).
However, Maun, Nishabd, and Ritto Gaun are currently being held back, intended only for charity shows and special screenings.
