Narendra Sendang to Produce New Film 'Matribhumi'
Kathmandu: Theater artist and actor Narendra Sendang is set to produce the film 'Matribhumi'.
The film, which will be written and directed by Dinesh Lingden, will be shot in Kathmandu and Panchthar in Nepal, as well as Texas and New York in the United States.
Kabita Rai Lingden is the executive producer of the film, which will begin filming following a formal inauguration ceremony in a few days.
Narendra himself will play the lead role in the movie. He stated that the names of the remaining cast and technicians will be announced soon.
Narendra mentioned that the film will encompass themes of love for one's motherland while living abroad, feelings towards the nation and nationality, and the personal struggles of Nepalis living overseas for employment and education.
Born in Urlabari, Morang, Narendra currently resides in Texas, USA, after previously living in Hong Kong for business. Having been interested in dance and literature since childhood, he has performed in street plays, theater, and Nepali films.
Having acted in a dozen plays including 'Kshitiz Pariko Gaun', 'Andhyaro Basti', and 'Tumdang', he received the Purbanchal First Prize in an arts competition organized by the then Kalashree Pratisthan Morang.
Narendra, who previously produced the film 'Bagar' featuring actors like Rajesh Hamal, Sirjana Basnet, Bipana Thapa, and Rohit Thebe, has already performed lead roles in films such as 'Timrai Ma Ho Ni', 'Bhedigoth', 'Payal', and 'Fake Friend'.
He is also the founding chairperson of the Hong Kong Nepal Art Literature Association and Ever Green Multiple Arts and Culture. He has created approximately three hundred literary works.
