Martyr's Day Program Organized by the Social Studies Department at Everest School
Martyr's Day was celebrated in a grand and disciplined manner at Everest School, located in Mibachhen, Bhaktapur-2, with the objective of expressing reverence, respect, and gratitude toward the immortal martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
During the program, profound tributes were paid to the four main martyrs of Nepal, as well as all known and unknown martyrs of various eras, while expressing a resolve to embrace and follow the path they demonstrated.
Students from Grade 4 to Grade 10, along with teachers and staff, actively participated in the event held on the school premises. The program was organized under the initiative of the Social Studies Department.
Inaugurating the program, the school’s Founder Principal, Mr. Bhakta Rajbhandari, mentioned that martyrs became immortal by smilingly sacrificing their lives for the nation and its people.
He stated, "Martyrs sacrificed themselves for the great objective of changing the face of the country, rising above personal interests. They are not just characters in history; they remain alive in our consciousness even today. Their sacrifice has shown us the path to freedom, rights, and democratic values."
Founder Principal Rajbhandari noted that developing a sense of patriotism, duty, and responsibility in students by informing them about the sacrifice of martyrs from a young age is an integral part of school education. He added, "Developing the spirit to make any sacrifice when the country needs it is true patriotism and the real respect toward martyrs."
Participating teachers and students expressed their respect by presenting powerful speeches, patriotic poems, stories, and articles in memory of the martyrs. The students' presentations not only enhanced the dignity of the program but also raised awareness about the contribution of martyrs and the social responsibilities that the current generation must uphold.
The program concluded with high honors paid to the martyrs and a resolution to walk the path they showed. Everyone present expressed their commitment to becoming honest, responsible, and dedicated citizens to fulfill the dreams of the martyrs.
