Malangwa Substation Inundated; Electricity Service Disrupted

Sarlahi — Continuous rainfall has inundated the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) substation in Malangwa, leading to a disruption in electricity services. Following the flooding of the substation, the power supply has been shut off in Malangwa and 10 other local units since around 4:00 AM today.

According to Saurav Sah, a technical engineer at the NEA Malangwa Distribution Branch, power transmission can only be restored after the water drains out, as the substation remains submerged.

He added that water entering the control room has caused significant difficulties in power distribution, and efforts are currently underway to drain the water using motor pumps.
