Mahesh Basnet Asks Prime Minister Sushila Karki to Retire from Politics
In Kathmandu, CPN-UML leader Mahesh Basnet stated that Prime Minister Sushila Karki (Sushila Aama) should be given a 'Tata Bye-Bye' from political life.
Addressing the party's National Youth Volunteer Force declaration assembly, he said that Sushila Aama should be given a 'Tata Bye-Bye' from political life and suggested that she go to the UK with her children, get treatment for her ailing husband and herself, and live a comfortable life.
He said, "Tomorrow at 11 o'clock, we will be presenting ourselves at Bhrikutimandap. More than 60,000 UML leaders and workers from various districts around the valley are gathering at Bhrikutimandap. Sushila Aama should be given a Tata Bye-Bye from political life, and she should go to the UK with her children, get treatment for her sick husband and herself, and live a comfortable life."
Similarly, he suggested she lead a splendid retired life in the UK and urged the Prime Minister not to become an "anvil" (a piece of metal or hard material on which things are struck and shaped) in politics.
He said, "You are saying that politics has made you an anvil. Poor mother, don't become an anvil. Live a splendid retired life in the UK. Go serve your children there. The work of running the government is done by political parties. It is done by political leaders, you go there."
He also claimed that Prime Minister Karki would resign within two or three days. He added that while Kathmandu Metropolitan Mayor Balen Shah tried to put the country in crisis by writing statuses, the National Youth Volunteer Force would now defend it.
