Lingden Warns Political Parties for Ignoring Public Outrage

Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rajendra Lingden, stated that the Gen Z movement was not merely about removing K.P. Sharma Oli but was for fundamental change in the country.

Addressing an RPP public demonstration and assembly in Kathmandu on Tuesday, he said the Gen Z movement was not only to place Sushila Karki in Singha Durbar but to ensure good governance and stable peace in the nation.

He said, "The public's outrage was not just to remove the then Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and pick Sushila Karki up from the streets to put her in Singha Durbar.

It was for changing the things that were not right in this system, ensuring good governance, ensuring stable peace, and creating an environment where youth could earn their living within the country. That destruction (uprising) was for fundamental change."

Additionally, he asserted that it would be a mere illusion if anyone thought that holding elections to address the public's outrage would move the country forward. He stressed that they should only proceed to elections in a manner that addresses the demands of the Gen Z movement.

Similarly, he mentioned that when they suggested moving forward with a new understanding between the King and the political parties to save the country from disaster, the political parties laughed it off.

He stated, "We said let's move forward with a new understanding between the King and the political parties and save the country from disaster. But the political parties laughed it off."

"We had said that the country's situation is not as you think, and if you do not correct yourselves, if you do not improve, the day will come when you will have to flee.

That was taken even more lightly. We were not saying it out of anger towards anyone," he added.
