RPP Chairman Lingden: Elections Under Current System Won't Solve Problems
Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has stated that holding elections under the current constitution and present circumstances will not solve the country's problems.
Speaking at the RPP Central Committee meeting in Kathmandu on Thursday, he suggested that a new understanding must be established between the King, political parties, and Generation Z (Gen Z) before the elections to provide a way forward for the country. However, he also affirmed that the RPP will not back away from the elections, even if they are held under the current circumstances.
He said, "Holding elections under this constitution and in this state is not the solution to the problem. We must move forward by giving the country a way out through a new understanding established between the King, political parties, and Gen Z before the election.
The demands of Gen Z must be addressed, and then we should move ahead. If elections are held, the RPP will not run away from them. It will proceed with election preparations."
Furthermore, he mentioned that the meeting is discussing and debating the overall current political situation, the upcoming elections, and movements.
Participants are currently presenting their views, and the meeting is expected to conclude tomorrow after the speaking sessions are over.
