Lingden Claims Current Elections Under the Constitution Lack Solutions

Kathmandu. Advocate Swagat Nepal has announced his candidacy from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) for Jhapa District, Constituency No. 2. He made the announcement during a program held on Monday.

Speaking at the event, RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden stated that a single election conducted under the current constitution would not provide a solution for the country.

He mentioned that if a situation is to be created where Nepal does not have to look toward foreigners during times of trouble, then all political forces must reach a new understanding before heading into the election.

He said, "We have been continuously saying that a single election held under this constitution will not provide a solution for the country. We remain firm on that point. We have been constantly telling this government and all concerned parties that if we are to provide long-term peace and stability to the country, prevent conditions where anyone feels the need to revolt in the future, keep Nepal's decision-making power in the hands of the Nepali people, and ensure we don't have to look toward foreigners during crises, then a new understanding must be established among all political forces before going to the polls."

Similarly, Advocate Swagat Nepal stated that if the country is to be truly saved, the protection of Hindu, Buddhist, Kirat, and Sanatan religions is now a necessity. He remarked that regardless of which party citizens belong to, or even if they belong to no party at all, those who believe the country must be saved have no place to vote other than the RPP.

He said, "Right now, anti-national elements are constantly uniting. It seemed as though patriotic nationalists were divided, but that is no longer the case. There aren't many parties. If you talk to people on the street, they don't ask which party you belong to anymore. They don't talk like that. They ask whether you are a supporter of this republic run by foreign brokers or if you are a patriotic, nationalist royalist.

There was a time for asking which party you belonged to. The country has been delivered into the clutches of foreigners. Now, if the country is to be truly saved, for those citizens who believe that the monarchy as the basis of national unity and the protection of Hindu, Buddhist, Kirat, and Sanatan religions is a necessity—whether they are in any party or no party—there is no place to cast a vote except for the RPP."
