Khem Bahadur Gurung Elected as Chairman of Laxmi Secondary School Management Committee

Lekhnath: Khem Bahadur Gurung has been selected as the Chairman of the School Management Committee of Laxmi Secondary School, located in Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward No. 26.

A meeting of the School Management Committee on Thursday unanimously elected Gurung as the Chairman from among its members.

From the parents' gathering, Khem Bahadur Gurung, Sabina Gautam, and Dul Bahadur Pun were selected as members. 

Similarly, the Ward Education Committee nominated Sita Bastakoti and Ishwari Kumari G.C. as members, while the School Management Committee meeting nominated Karna Bahadur G.C. as a member. 

Mathura Prasad Shrestha had already been elected as the Chairman of the Teacher-Parent Association.

Congratulating the newly formed committee, Narendra Thapa, Chairman of Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward No. 26, suggested that the education sector should be kept away from politics. 

Mentioning that political beliefs often make it difficult to form management committees in some schools, Chairman Thapa clarified that no political ideology should dominate school improvement plans.

"We do not choose based on which party or faith a person follows; we give capable people the opportunity to work," Thapa said, mentioning that he has moved above politics to carry out development work in the ward.

Gurung, who has experience working in various organizations for a long time, took office as Chairman and expressed his commitment to move forward by cooperating with everyone to increase the quality of education.

Gurung said that although the school has well-equipped physical infrastructure, the lack of increase in the number of students is a matter of concern.

In the program, the school's Principal, Jagannath Adhikari, emphasized that there should be coordination and cooperation between teachers, students, and the management committee.
