Kathmandu Police Warns Public About Increasing Online Fraud via Facebook
Kathmandu. The District Police Range, Kathmandu, has urged the general public to be cautious, citing an increase in fraud incidents occurring through social media, especially Facebook.
According to the Police Range, fraud rings create various fake pages on Facebook and conduct 'luck tests' or lotteries through Facebook Live.
They trick people by telling them they have won money, then ask the victim to send an initial amount to receive the 'prize,' and subsequently show an action similar to scratching a card to commit the fraud.
The District Police Range, Kathmandu, has requested that people avoid falling for such false temptations and prevent themselves from being defrauded.
