Kaski Idol Titles to Rojita and Shikha
Pokhara, January 11: Rojita Ghatane has won the title of Kaski Idol in the singing category, and Shikha Pun has won the title in the dance category.
In the singing and dancing competition 'Kaski Idol' organized jointly by Rupa Wangmaya Pratisthan and Geetkar Pratisthan Nepal on Saturday, Sushant Bhandari became the first runner-up and Sabina Pariyar became the second runner-up in singing.
Santosh Pariyar and Bishal Pandey received consolation prizes in the singing category. Similarly, in dancing, Christina GC became the first runner-up, Akrisha Pokharel became the second runner-up, and Lozina Patel and Rhythm Limbu received consolation prizes.
The winners of both categories received 50,000 rupees cash each, along with a trophy and a certificate. Similarly, the first runners-up received 30,000 rupees cash, a trophy, and a certificate, while the second runners-up received 10,000 rupees cash, a trophy, and a certificate.
Five finalists in each category had reached the final after passing through various stages of the competition held over the past month and a half.
The program was chaired by Adarsh Pokharel, President of Rupa Wangmaya Pratisthan. The chief guest, Nirmal Gurung, Chairman of Sagarmatha Television, said that programs like Kaski Idol create a foundation for producing national-level artists by bringing out hidden talents from local and rural areas.
Adarsh Pokharel, who was also the program coordinator, said that the goal of the organizations is to provide a proper platform for young talent along with social, literary, and cultural development.
Januka Parajuli Adhikari, President of the Lekhnath Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed that such programs contribute to the protection of cultural identity, talent development, and the promotion of tourism in this region.
Anurag Adhikari, President of Geetkar Pratisthan, said that the organization is active not only for the rights of songwriters but also for the upliftment of the entire musical and cultural sector. He mentioned that the organization plans to conduct programs in various fields of Nepali literature and culture in the future.
The program featured performances by singer Rambhakta Jojiju and singer Itu Jojiju, as well as special performances by artists including Anil Dhungana and Sanam Gurung. The program was hosted by Jhalak Gurung and Jyoti Khadka.
