Karki Commission Submits Report on Gen-Z Movement to Prime Minister
Kathmandu. The judicial commission formed to investigate the events of the Gen-Z movement on Bhadra 23-24 submitted its report to the government today. While handing over the report to Prime Minister Sushila Karki, the Chairman of the Commission, Gauri Bahadur Karki, mentioned that resentment has grown due to misgovernance, distortions within agencies, and partisan political power-sharing.
Members of the commission stated that this report has prepared a basis for action and that the state of the country will change if it is implemented. Prime Minister Karki has pledged to study the report, present it to the Council of Ministers, and make its findings public.
She said: "You all have worked very hard. Thank you for this. The initial timeframe we set was not sufficient given our resources. Later, the time had to be extended. However, we appointed you to the commission because we were aware of your expertise and competence in the fields of justice, law, and investigation. You are renowned in your respective fields. I am confident that this is reflected in the report. I fully believe you have submitted a report that separates truth from falsehood. Now, the study of this and the implementation process will move forward. We will also discuss the matter of making it public. After reviewing the details, even if the entire document cannot be released immediately, we will at least make the conclusions public."
