Kathmandu — The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal has decided to pursue party unification with political groups that share similar ideologies and principles.
The decision was made during the party’s Central Executive Committee meeting, according to Purna Basnet, head of the party’s Publicity and Publication Department.
Basnet stated that while JSP will unite with parties aligned in thought and ideology, it will also form alliances, working fronts, or cooperation with other parties that may differ ideologically but share common political agendas.
The meeting also resolved to make the Federal Democratic Front more active, effective, and strong. It emphasized the need to collaborate with other political forces and alliances as necessary to counter regressive elements opposing federalism, equality, democracy, republicanism, secularism, inclusivity, and social justice.
Following the Gen Z movement, several political parties have been working toward unity, alliance, and cooperation. In mid-September, youth leaders from JSP Nepal and four other political parties jointly urged their party leadership to move toward unification among parties carrying socialist ideals.
