JSP Nepal and Swadhin Madhesh Janabhiyan Announce Working Unity

Kathmandu, Poush 9: The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), Nepal and the Swadhin Madhesh Janabhiyan have announced that they will work together. Both sides have agreed to start joint protest programs for now and may fully join together as one party in the future if needed.

On Monday, at a program held at the JSP Nepal central office in Balkumari, both groups announced their partnership and agreed to lead struggles together. Upendra Yadav, the Chairman of JSP Nepal, and Kailash Mahato, the Coordinator of Swadhin Madhesh Janabhijan, signed the agreement.

In the agreement paper, both sides promised to struggle together to set up a fully proportional election system. They also agreed to fight for a system where local elections do not use political parties, so that local governments can focus purely on development.

The paper claims that the Constitution of Nepal is incomplete, wrong, and unfair. It says they will continue to fight to change, improve, or even rewrite the Constitution if necessary. They also agreed to work together to establish a "State-Nation" idea that includes all different castes, languages, religions, and cultures.

The groups also declared they will make the federal system stronger and give more power to the provinces. They promised to keep fighting for the rights, identity, and respect of Madhesis, Dalits, women, Janajatis, Khas, Muslims, minorities, and backward groups.

Finally, they committed to struggling together to make sure every community is represented in all parts of the government based on their population size.
