JSP Nepal Announces Programs of Struggle

The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal is set to launch programs of struggle alongside preparations for the election.

The party's central executive committee meeting decided to move forward with both electoral preparations and programs of struggle simultaneously, according to the head of the party's publicity and publication department, Purna Basnet.

The programs of struggle announced by JSP Nepal include:

  • Mangsir 10: Submitting memorandums to the Prime Minister through the District Administration Offices from all districts.
  • Mangsir 11–15: Organizing protest programs, corner meetings (kon sabha), and public mobilization in the urban and market areas of every parliamentary constituency.
  • Mangsir 19–21: Holding peaceful sit-ins (dharna) in front of the District Administration Offices with placards and banners detailing their demands.
  • Mangsir 27–Poush 4: Organizing district-level protest meetings and public assemblies across the country.

JSP Nepal has also announced provincial-level public demonstrations and protest meetings:

  • Poush 12: Biratnagar
  • Poush 14: Janakpur
  • Poush 15: Birgunj
  • Poush 17: Nepalgunj and Bhairahawa

Basnet stated that the party was compelled to go to the streets for struggle because the government does not appear positive about fulfilling the demands and issues the party has been raising for a long time.

Additionally, JSP Nepal has stated that relevant district committees or provincial committees may decide and implement other protest programs as needed.
