JSP Leader Ashok Yadav Quits, Calls for 'New Alternative' for Madhesh Development

Ashok Kumar Yadav, the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Madhesh Province President, has announced that he is leaving both his post and the party to embark on a new path in politics.

Through a letter addressed to the President on Thursday, he informed that he has resigned from the responsibility of Province President and has also relinquished his general membership.

In his resignation letter, Yadav indirectly criticized the current political situation, clearly stating that the development of Madhesh and the country is not possible through Madhesh-centric parties.

In the letter he made public, he wrote, "Starting my political journey with the Madheshi Jana Adhikar Forum Nepal up to the JSP, I have faced arrests, jail time, and lawsuits for raising my voice against injustice, oppression, exploitation, and discrimination. But now, I have concluded that it is necessary to find a new alternative for the development of Madhesh and the country."

He has claimed that he has consistently raised the issues of rights, even putting his life at risk.

However, he has made it clear that he resigned because expecting concrete change from the Madhesh-centric parties in the current situation seems impossible. He is now preparing to join the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre).
