Central Leaders of Five Parties Make Joint Appeal for Party Unity
Central leaders of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal and the parties that split from it have made a joint appeal to their leaderships for party unification.
Leaders from Upendra Yadav’s Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, Mahantha Thakur’s Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal, Ashok Rai’s Janata Samajwadi Party, the Nagarik Unmukti Party, and the Nepal Samajwadi Party (Naya Shakti) issued a joint appeal, urging the leadership to unite parties carrying common ideologies, principles, and agendas to move forward toward building an alternative political force.
The appeal stated: “We, the young representatives upholding socialist values that embrace the federal democratic republic, have reached a common conclusion in the context of developments following the Gen-Z movement.
We believe it is appropriate to unite parties carrying common ideologies, principles, and agendas to move forward in the direction of creating an alternative political force. By correcting past weaknesses, we strongly urge the leadership of the concerned parties to unify and strengthen the socialist movement.”
The appeal also expressed the expectation that the leadership would seriously embrace the needs of the country, the spirit of the movement, and the sentiments of the general party workers and members.
The joint appeal was signed by JSP Nepal central member and head of the publicity department Purna Basnet and central member Khemraj Khadka; LSP Nepal central secretary Rameshwar Yadav and central member Sujan Yadav; JSP central members Premnarayan Thapa, Arjun Lamsal, and Gyanu Acharya; Nagarik Unmukti Party central members Deep Bahadur Tamang, Gita Chaudhary, and Dorje Tamang; and Nepal Samajwadi Party (Naya Shakti) leaders Bishnu Prasad Poudel and Prakash Bhattarai.
