District Administration Office Jhapa Warns Against Violating Voter Confidentiality
Kathmandu. The District Administration Office Jhapa has raised awareness regarding incidents that could violate voter confidentiality. It has issued a warning against online activities that may breach the election code of conduct.
A notice issued by the office states: "Information has been received that some online media outlets, using social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube, are violating voter confidentiality by asking the general public and voters which party, candidate, or election symbol they intend to vote for.
Since such actions constitute a violation of the code of conduct under Section 4 (da) of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082, this notice is published for the information of everyone concerned. If anyone is found engaging in such activities after the issuance of this notice, legal proceedings will be initiated according to prevailing laws."
The District Administration Office has urged everyone not to engage in such activities, as they violate Section 4 (da) of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082. The Administration Office Jhapa stated that if such actions continue after the notice, action will be taken according to existing laws.
The office has requested the general public and all concerned parties to remain vigilant regarding this matter.
