Jhalanath Khanal Condemns US Action in Venezuela

Kathmandu: Former Prime Minister and senior leader of the Nepali Communist Party, Jhalanath Khanal, has strongly condemned the US attack on Venezuela.

He described the event as a direct violation of a free nation's sovereignty, a mockery of international law, and an example of state terrorism.

In a released statement, Khanal alleged that under the Trump administration, the US Delta Force used about 150 fighter planes to attack Venezuela.

He claimed the attack killed civilians and soldiers, destroyed military structures, and involved the forced kidnapping of elected President Nicolas Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores to the United States.

According to Khanal, the main reason for US intervention is Venezuela's oil reserves, which are the largest in the world. He claimed that because the Maduro government stood in the way of US interests to seize oil resources, the US used the false excuse of "drug trafficking" to carry out the attack and kidnapping.

"This is not just hegemonic bullying, but American state terrorism," Khanal stated. He mentioned that the people of Venezuela are standing firm against imperialist attacks, and that justice-loving nations, people worldwide, and the United Nations are opposing the move. He also noted that people within the US have taken to the streets in protest.

The former Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the resistance of the Venezuelan people on behalf of the Nepal Communist Party and the Nepali people.

He demanded the safe release of President Maduro and the First Lady. Additionally, he urged the United Nations and the international community to take strict legal action against such violent attacks.

Khanal emphasized that the global community must unite to protect the independence, sovereignty, and world peace of small and weak nations.
