Janardan Sharma Expresses Disagreement on Maoist Unity Process

The Vice-Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre), Janardan Sharma, has expressed disagreement with the ongoing party unification process being advanced by the Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'. Sharma stated that the current unity effort goes against the spirit of the Gen Z movement.

Sharma said, "If he [Prachanda] unifies the party with Madhavji [Madhav Kumar Nepal], I will not go, I will reorganize the party. I have stated this clearly." He clarified that he is talking about strengthening the party, stating, "Splitting one's own party and bringing another party to unify is not unity."

He mentioned that the current unity effort is of a nature that the Maoist party cannot sustain. Sharma said, "Prachanda is talking about unity only to avoid competition in the General Convention. First, the leadership must be transferred, and only then can the entire communist movement proceed toward unity."

He called for an immediate halt to the unification process and urged the party to move forward with reorganization, ideological clarity, and a people-oriented direction.

He noted that after the establishment of the republic, the Maoist party has been unable to fulfill its responsibility of building the foundation for socialism in accordance with the spirit of the People's War, the essence of the constitution, and the aspirations of the people.
