Internal Strife Intensifies Within Major Opposition Parties Following Election Defeat
Kathmandu: Internal conflict and dissatisfaction have escalated within the major opposition parties after failing to achieve expected results in the elections held in March. In the Nepali Congress, questions regarding discipline have arisen as parallel activities between the establishment and the Deuba faction continue to increase.
Meanwhile, in the CPN-UML, differences have emerged among leaders, including Vice Chairman Bishnu Paudel, over the working style and statements of Acting Chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa.
On the other hand, a group within the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has become active against the leadership, demanding the announcement of a date for the general convention. Due to disputes among leaders, debates over the transfer of leadership, and demands for organizational restructuring, a crisis of discipline and policy clarity has surfaced within these parties.
