Home Minister Inspects Polling Stations in Remote Areas of Lalitpur
Kathmandu: In view of the upcoming House of Representatives election on March 5 (Falgun 21), a high-level team including Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has set out to monitor and inspect polling stations in various remote areas of Lalitpur to assess election preparations and overall security.
The team includes Home Ministry Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, Spokesperson Ananda Kafle, and other high-ranking officials.
According to the Home Minister's private secretary, Parshuram Pokharel, the high-level delegation is conducting field monitoring of polling centers in areas such as Bunmati, Gotikhel, and Lele in Lalitpur today to understand the election readiness and security situation.
The program includes inspecting security arrangements and the overall election environment, visiting relevant security agencies and polling stations, and providing necessary directives to security personnel.
Previously on Sunday, a team including Home Minister Aryal, Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, Inspector General of Nepal Police Dan Bahadur Karki, and Inspector General of Armed Police Force Raju Aryal visited Nepalgunj in Banke, as well as Achham, Bajhang, Bajura, and Dhangadhi in Kailali to conduct field inspections of election preparations and security measures.
During those visits, Minister Aryal expressed confidence that the election would be completed in a clean, fair, and fearless environment, urging voters to exercise their right to vote without any hesitation.
Before that, on Falgun 15, a high-level team consisting of Home Minister Aryal and Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari held discussions and interactions with district security committees, major local political parties, chief returning officers, and other stakeholders in Dolakha, Okhaldhunga, Morang, Rautahat, and Parsa regarding election preparations and peace and security.
The government has strengthened and streamlined election security and the country's overall peace and security situation to ensure the election is held in a clean, fair, and fearless environment.
