Hikers' Club Nepal's 65th Hiking Series in Harspur, Myagde
Pokhara. The 65th installment of the hiking series, which has been regularly held on the last Saturday of every month for the past 7 years with the slogan "Hiking for Health and Tourism," concluded in Harspur, Ward No. 7 of Myagde Rural Municipality, Tanahun.
The group of hikers was welcomed at the viewpoint of Harspur Dandagaun by a local mother's group, including local Balkumar Shrestha, playing a traditional five-instrument band (panchebaja). Welcoming the group, they thanked the Hikers' Club Nepal for making Harspur, which is slowly stepping into the tourism market, their travel destination and requested them to widely publicize Harspur village.
They also shared their experience that after starting to operate homestays in the village a few years ago, internal tourism has increased, and the villagers have also received a paved road.
A total of 38 people, including regular hikers and first-time participants, who gathered from various places in Pokhara after the announcement on social media, started their walk from Ghumtibazar, Tharpu, Myagde-7 on the Prithvi Highway, and hiked up to the viewpoint of Harspur Dandagaun in the same ward.
Earlier, the club's President Krishna Ranabhat, Vice President Jyoti Hamal, Advisor Juna Gurung, and other participants were welcomed with abir (colored powder) and floral bouquets by the Syangde Tole Development Organization, Sangam Tole Development Organization, Dhobikhola Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumers Committee, and Syangde Badhare Sameedanda Mother's Group.
The club's President, Krishna Ranabhat, shed light on the locals' inquiries, discussing the establishment of the Hikers' Club, its contribution to rural tourism, and the places they have reached through hiking.
Santaman Shrestha, Chairman of the Dhobikhola Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumers Committee, and Ramkumar Shrestha, Chairman of the Syangde Tole Development Organization, facilitated the trek and provided information about Ari Rah, Khursani Rah, Milijuli Community Forest, and the historical well.
Organized by the club, hiking programs have previously been completed in Tanahun district's Dhyangchalum and Siddha Cave in Bhimad Municipality; Tharpek in Shuklagandaki Municipality; Kilchok and Bahpur in Myagde Rural Municipality; Manungkot in Byas Municipality; and Dagam village in Shuklagandaki Municipality.
