Rastriya Prajatantra Party Leader Gyanendra Shahi’s Post: Victory on the Streets, Defeat in Politics
Kathmandu – Gyanendra Shahi, leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), stated in a Facebook post that although the country achieved victory through street movements, it has suffered a political defeat.
According to him, the issue of announcing a directly elected executive prime minister on September 9 failed politically because the representatives sent in the name of GEN-Z were not actual GEN-Z, leading to a flawed agreement.
Shahi noted that three major leaders accused of corruption have seized power. The upcoming election is now expected to be only for members of parliament, similar to 2079, and there will be no election for a directly elected executive prime minister.
He also warned that constitutional amendment, which requires the agreement of 184 MPs (two-thirds) for a directly elected executive prime minister, is currently not possible given the political situation.
