Government to Bear Full Treatment Expenses for Election Security Personnel
The government will cover all medical expenses for security personnel and election police injured during the House of Representatives elections.
During a press briefing at Singha Durbar on Wednesday regarding the decisions of the Council of Ministers meeting held on February 25, Government Spokesperson and Home Minister Omprakash Aryal announced that the government has decided to bear all treatment costs if any security personnel or election police are injured during the election period.
Additionally, the Council of Ministers decided to provide financial assistance to the dependent families of those who lose their lives during this period.
Spokesperson Aryal further stated that the Council of Ministers decided to approve the 16th Plan Implementation Action Plan and extend the term of the Commission of Inquiry regarding the implementation of Supreme Court orders related to the transport sector by one month.
He also informed that a decision was made to continue the ad hoc committee of the Central Executive Committee of the Red Cross Society until mid-July 2026, and to issue an order to remove legal obstacles so that the committee can form a new executive body within that period.
Furthermore, the Council of Ministers decided to appoint two Under Secretaries to the Gazetted First Class positions of the Nepal Justice Service as per the recommendation of the Justice Service Commission.
The government also decided to grant tax exemptions on items mentioned in the implementation agreement for the Kathmandu Ring Road Improvement Project (Kalanki to Basundhara section), which is being constructed and upgraded with grant assistance from the Chinese government.
Additionally, it was decided that the 10th National Games, scheduled to be held in Birendranagar, Surkhet, will be organized at a suitable time following the House of Representatives elections.
