Government Committed to Building a Business-Friendly Province: Minister Thapa

Pokhara –
Bindu Kumar Thapa, Minister for Social Development, Youth, and Sports of Gandaki Province Government, has stated that the government is committed to creating a business-friendly province. He made these remarks at the 27th Annual General Assembly and 14th Convention of the Buddha Vishal Bazaar Traders Association.

“Our priority is to create an investment-friendly environment for industrialists and entrepreneurs,” he said. Minister Thapa defined industrialists and entrepreneurs as trust and foundation, and clarified that due to inadequate publicity of the provincial government’s efforts, public awareness of these initiatives has remained limited.

According to him, the provincial government is currently focused on developing industry-friendly policy frameworks, simplifying business registration procedures, skill development training, and promoting youth entrepreneurship.

“We have been running 19 types of training programs through the Skill Development Training Center under the Ministry of Social Development, Youth, and Sports to encourage entrepreneurial youth to invest within Nepal,” he informed. He also mentioned a program through which the provincial government provides a 50% grant on business capital and bank loans to youths who want to start enterprises or businesses in their homeland after taking the training.

Minister Thapa expressed that the Gandaki Province government is preparing to hold an industry-investment conference and is working towards creating an environment that encourages both domestic and foreign investors to establish industries.

To improve governance, the registration and renewal of education consultancy institutions will now be managed from Pokhara, and lobbying is underway to establish a company registrar unit within the province as well, he added.

Highlighting the remarkable role of the Buddha Vishal Bazaar Traders Association, Minister Thapa praised the association’s efforts in promoting trade, business unity, and fulfilling social responsibilities.

He is confident that the 27th General Assembly and 14th Convention will further strengthen the association and contribute to creating a more business-friendly environment.
