"Give the Bill, Recover the Money but Don't Shut Down the Industries": Gyanendra Shahi's Warning to the Energy Minister
Kathmandu: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Gyanendra Shahi has leveled a serious accusation, targeting the current Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, claiming that a "major strategic move" has been made with the objective of shutting down self-reliant industries in the country such as cement, steel bars, and rods.
In a long post on Facebook, Shahi stressed that no country, industry, factory, or business in the world has become successful and capable by shutting down.
He claimed that a conspiracy is underway to shut down these industries with the aim of importing foreign goods, despite Nepal's cement and steel/rod industries not only being self-reliant but now capable of exporting billions of rupees worth of goods abroad.
Shahi warned that the trend of shutting down industries is being repeated, just like 44 industries were closed in the period of 1989/90 BS. He urged the government to "Give the bill, recover the money but don't shut down the industries," stating that the industries cannot pay the money without a bill.
In his post, he indirectly pointed towards the current Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, stating, "Foreigners are taking the support of a new popular face for the new strategy."
He mentioned that because this person is currently extremely popular, even if the public does not believe his words, the reality is to shut down Nepal's factories and industries and import foreign goods.
Shahi warned against such wrongdoings, stating, "Just as the public worships you as God today, they will curse you as a demon on that day," because the truth will surely be revealed one day. He concluded by cautioning the government to punish those who do wrong, but not to shut down the industries.
