Kageshwori Manohara Municipality Teaching Skills to Gen Z Youth with the Support of Genesys Solution

Kathmandu – Kageshwori Manohara Municipality is teaching employment-oriented information technology skills to the youth of the Gen Z generation.

The municipality successfully completed a 10-day digital literacy training program, which was conducted in collaboration with Genesys Solution, an information technology consulting and cybersecurity specialist company headquartered in the UK.

The 10-day training provided instruction on digital marketing, cybersecurity, cloud, and the latest IT trends, along with practical exercises.

Upendra Karki, Mayor of Kageshwori Manohara Municipality, stated that they initiated an Innovation Center in partnership with Genesys Solution with the goal of making this municipality the country's IT hub.

He further mentioned that the municipality is striving to create opportunities for the Gen Z generation, and noted that the youth who have taken IT training have secured good employment, with some also becoming 'self-employed.' He congratulated all the participants and thanked the Genesys Solution team for their collaboration.

Purushottam Subedi, Chief Administrative Officer of Manohara Municipality, expressed that the 10-day training would help the participants acquire new skills and determine their future career paths.

He pointed out that while software developed abroad is currently being used in Nepal, it is now necessary to prepare a workforce capable of producing the software the country needs right here in Nepal.

Pushpa Raj Dhakal, Head of the Municipality's Education Branch, welcomed everyone, stating that the current era is the age of information technology and that youth with IT skills can find many opportunities.

Forty young people participated in the training, which was organized with the objective of providing IT-related skills and helping them gain employment. The training was conducted by Genesys Solution's Kailash Badu, Sampanna Shrestha, Bishrant Katwal, Senior Officer Astha Joshi, Suju Shrestha, Bardan Khadka Chhetri, Nirmal Bastakoti, Kritika Kapali, and Santosh Tamrakar.
