Gen-Z Group Back on the Streets: Outrage Against Sushila Karki-Led Government
Kathmandu: The 'Gen-Z' group of youths, whose movement was the foundation for the formation of the interim government led by former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, has once again taken to the streets to protest against it.
The protesting youths, wearing black headbands, chanted slogans like, "In Oli's game, in Sushila's trap, all of Gen-Z are in jail," which appears to express suspicion and dissatisfaction, alleging that the current government is under the influence of the political leadership.
The main grievance of the youths is that the government has focused only on conducting elections but has neglected fundamental agendas such as:
Controlling corruption.
- Investigating the suppression and damages that occurred during the uprising.
- Providing justice to the families of the martyrs and the injured.
The Gen-Z groups are demanding immediate action against those convicted in major corruption scandals and the initiation of the constitutional amendment process to implement the system of a directly elected Prime Minister.
