Gagan Thapa Arrives in Sarlahi for Election Campaign

Kathmandu. Gagan Kumar Thapa, the candidate for the future Prime Minister, has reached Sarlahi for his election campaign. After arriving at Simara via a Buddha Air flight on Monday, he was greeted by a large crowd gathered to welcome and honor him. Having filed his candidacy from Sarlahi-4, he will spend the next few days meeting with party workers and conducting his campaign.

After becoming the Congress President, Gagan announced that he has transformed the Congress party and now intends to transform the country. The party has decided to enter the election by projecting Thapa as the candidate for the future Prime Minister. Before leaving for Sarlahi, Thapa remarked that he was going to Madhesh to unite the country. In a video message, he stated, "I am going to Madhesh because I want to unite the country."

As a candidate for the House of Representatives from Sarlahi Constituency No. 4 this time, he expressed his belief that he belongs to the whole of Nepal rather than just one constituency. Leader Thapa, who previously won elections three times from Kathmandu Constituency No. 4, mentioned that he will continue to keep that area in his heart.

A large number of Congress workers from various districts of Madhesh, including Bara, Rautahat, Parsa, and Sarlahi, had reached Simara Airport since early morning to welcome President Thapa. Upon landing, Thapa was greeted with garlands, vermilion, and chanting. The enthusiastic presence of the workers clearly demonstrated the growing influence of the Congress and the attraction toward Thapa in the Madhesh province.

Although he filed his candidacy from Sarlahi Constituency No. 4, he was unable to be present on the day of nomination due to a busy schedule. Having filed his nomination through a proxy, Thapa left today to meet the voters and workers of his constituency in person for the first time.

He is scheduled to travel from Simara to Sarlahi by road. Since taking over the leadership of the Nepali Congress, Thapa has been seen prioritizing Madhesh-centered politics.
