Arpan Thapa’s Directorial Film ‘French Kiss’ Announced with Auspicious Kick-off
The film ‘French Kiss’ is set to be produced under the banner of ATF Production Pvt. Ltd. On Friday, marking the occasion of Saraswati Puja (Basanta Panchami), the film was officially announced and its auspicious filming ceremony (shubhamuhurat) was held at the Ganesh Temple in Kamaladi, Kathmandu.
Actor Arpan Thapa, known for directing films with unique styles and trends in the Nepali film industry, has formally announced his new project ‘French Kiss.’ Thapa himself will be directing the film.
Filming is scheduled to begin on Monday in various locations across Chitwan. Arpan Thapa will appear in the lead role. Alongside him, actress Thinley Lhamo, who gained international acclaim for the movie ‘Shambala,’ will also play a lead role.
Actress Thinley previously won the prestigious ‘Boccalino d’Oro’ award for best acting at the world-renowned 77th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.
This film will feature the on-screen pairing of Thinley, who has brought pride to Nepal on the international stage, and the versatile actor Arpan Thapa. The main cast will also include actresses Gauri Malla and Aayesha Tamang.
Saugat Basnet serves as the executive producer, while Subhash B. Shahi is the co-producer. The film will be shot by experienced cinematographer Sudeep Baral.
The music for the film will be composed by the famous singer and musician Deepak Bajracharya.
With publicity design handled by Royal Bhimsen (Trident Concept), the film aims for a release within the year 2026.
The title itself suggests that the movie may be based on a love story catering to the younger generation.
Given Arpan Thapa's success in leaving a distinct mark through both acting and directing, this new film is expected to offer a different flavor to the Nepali audience.
