Founder Gurung's Birthday Celebrated at Old Age Home and Manav Sewa Ashram

Pokhara. Amrit Lama Gurung, the founder of the Lama Amrit Foundation, has been celebrating his birthday for the past nine years by distributing groceries and fruits at an old age home and the Manav Seva Ashram (Human Service Shelter).

On the occasion of his birthday today, the Foundation's founder, Gurung, celebrated by distributing groceries and fruits at the Pokhara Old Age Home (Pokhara Vriddhashram) and the Chhorepatan branch of the Manav Seva Ashram, both located in Pokhara Metropolitan City.

Gurung, the founder of the Foundation, stated that he engages in social service rather than wasteful spending on his birthday.

"I have been celebrating my birthday at the Pokhara Old Age Home for the past 8 or 9 years," he said. "More than just aid, this is a message that the money usually spent elsewhere should be used for social work. There is a special joy in celebrating my birthday by distributing groceries and fruits at the Old Age Home and the Manav Seva Ashram."

The Pokhara Old Age Home currently shelters 40 residents, and the Manav Sewa Ashram, Chhorepatan, has 94 dependents.

Similarly, for the past four years, Gurung has also provided financial and grocery assistance to kidney patient Nar Bahadur Tamang and physically disabled Bimala Tamang, residents of Pokhara Metropolitan City-14, on his birthday.

Kidney patient Tamang undergoes dialysis twice a week, while Bimala Tamang is physically disabled. The founder of the Foundation, Gurung, is actively involved in the fields of social welfare and sports development.
