Kantipur Film Academy Announces Film Sakambari
Kathmandu – Kantipur Film Academy has announced its new film Sakambari, based on the characters from the popular play Shirishko Phool, staged last month at Kantipur Theater. The untold story of Sakambari, Suyogbir, and Shivaraj—left incomplete on stage—will now be brought to the big screen.
Audiences’ favorite actor, Jeevan Luitel, who had also played Suyogbir in the play, has been signed once again for the same role in the film. Similarly, one of the most admired actors of recent times, Arpan Thapa, has been confirmed for the role of Shivaraj.
The lead role of Sakambari and the film’s director will be revealed in the coming days, according to the academy.
Sakambari will begin shooting after Tihar, with locations set in Burma, Myung Merung Hill, and various places around Kathmandu.
