Federal Republican Alliance to Contest Election with Single Bus Symbol
Kathmandu. The Federal Republican Alliance, which has emerged as a natural political unity of Dalits, Muslims, Nishads, Tharus, Madheshis, Indigenous Nationalities, women, and other oppressed communities, has decided to contest the upcoming election under a single election symbol: "The Bus Symbol."
The Alliance has formally registered with the Election Commission to enter the electoral fray with the Bus symbol.
The alliance includes the Nepal Federal Socialist Party led by former Minister of State for Home Affairs and Constituent Assembly member Md. Rizwan Ansari, the Bahujan Unity Party Nepal led by Harinandan Ambedkar, and the Nepal Janajagriti Party led by Dhupalal Prasad Sahani Nishad. These three parties have united under a common political structure to be implemented across the country.
Leaders stated that the main objective of the alliance is to establish the state power of the oppressed people of Nepal, fulfill the aspirations of the Nepali people for equality and good governance, create employment opportunities within the country, end all forms of anomalies, and ensure a transformative role in national politics by adopting a system of governance with a directly elected executive Prime Minister or President, a fully proportional electoral system, and robust representation for the country's most excluded, oppressed, and socially marginalized communities.
According to them, with the party registration, a firm commitment has been expressed to institutionally bring the voices of the Bahujan, Muslim, Dalit, Indigenous, Madhesi, Nishad communities, and the working class to the Parliament through the election process and into the mainstream of Nepali politics.
The Alliance announced that it will conduct organized campaigns across the country starting from the upcoming election, presenting an alternative, inclusive, and social justice-centered political path to the public.
