Road Expansion Must Be Fair: Gen-Z Makwanpur Issues Appeal

While the ongoing road expansion work in Hetauda is progressing rapidly, amidst increasing activities both opposing and supporting it, Gen-Z Makwanpur has issued an official press release urging everyone not to fall for any illusion of stopping development.

The statement, issued by District Coordinator Sugam Negi, clarifies that, as per the Supreme Court's order, 'although there is a provision that compensation will not be provided for structures falling within 25/25 yards, the actual victims must still receive justice.'

Negi stressed that any unjust step taken in the name of making people landless will not be acceptable, and the road expansion should proceed only through a process that is lawful and victim-friendly.

He mentioned that some groups have been misusing the name of Gen-Z and spreading the misleading propaganda that 'Gen-Z is stopping the road expansion,' and urged people not to be misled, as such activities only create confusion among the public.

The statement reads, "We are clear on the issue of development—road expansion must move forward with transparency, justice, and public participation ensured."

Currently, work is progressing rapidly in coordination between the local level and the Road Division Office, with preparations to remove hundreds of structures in the Hetauda-Buddha Chowk-Rapti Bridge and Buddha Chowk-Samari Bridge route areas.

However, residents of the affected areas have been resorting to protests due to the possibility of being deprived of fair compensation.

In this context, Gen-Z Makwanpur has made it clear that their objective is not to stop or halt development. Instead, they have delivered a clear message through an appeal to 'let's join hands for the right and sustainable development of Hetauda.'

Demanding that the road expansion process be advanced in a legal, transparent, and equitable manner, he also called upon all state mechanisms to work responsibly.
