Government Committed to Rule of Law and Fair Elections: Home Minister Aryal
Kathmandu — Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has stated that the current government is fully focused on establishing the rule of law, ensuring corruption-free administration, strengthening good governance, and transferring responsibility through elections.
Speaking on Thursday at the inauguration of the Foreign National Management Information System (FNMIS) program organized by the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu, Minister Aryal emphasized the government’s firm commitment to conducting the upcoming elections in a clean, fair, and fear-free environment.
He added that the success of the elections depends on the appropriate and responsible role of all concerned stakeholders.
While addressing the program, Minister Aryal expressed confidence that the FNMIS system—launched with the objective of ensuring the safety of foreign nationals visiting Nepal, facilitating access to information, controlling potential crimes, and supporting tourism promotion—would prove to be a significant milestone in immigration information management.
Similarly, Director General of the Department of Immigration, Ramchandra Tiwari, stated that the FNMIS system would make the movement and residence of foreign nationals more effective in accordance with immigration laws.
He noted that the system would enhance the personal security of foreign nationals, facilitate search and rescue operations during disasters, strengthen monitoring of undesirable activities during their stay in Nepal, and make crime investigation more effective.
According to Director General Tiwari, the system is also expected to play an important role in developing Nepal as a safe tourist destination at the international level.
